Head Coach/Artistic Director
Katy Garrity
As a member of the original VIT cast in 2009, Katy continues her journey with the organization as the choreographer and creative inspiration behind all our teams.
Katy has been on the ice since 1997, beginning at the age of two. Since 2012, she has coached skaters of all levels and has led Theatre on Ice teams both nationally and internationally.
When she is not choreographing for VIT, Katy performs professionally as a figure skater and choreographer with Ice Creative Entertainment and World On Ice. She has developed productions for major clients such as Marriott Hotels, Disney Parks and Resorts, and global tours across Australia, Canada, and Taiwan.
Known for her innovative style and her ability to bring stories to life on the ice, Katy continues to elevate performances with VIT and beyond.

Felipe Brent
Felipe has been figure skating since 2010 and began his dynamic Theatre on Ice journey in 2018. He brings a wealth of talent and dedication to Virginia Ice Theatre, both as a skater and coach. A professional performer with Ice Creative Entertainment, Felipe is passionate about sharing his knowledge and skills with aspiring skaters.
A U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist in Moves in the Field and an experienced coach, Felipe is committed to both his own growth and nurturing the next generation of skaters. His international competition experience with Virginia Ice Theatre, representing Team USA, highlights his dedication to the sport. Grateful for the opportunities skating has provided, Felipe looks forward to continuing his journey with passion and enthusiasm.
Team Coach
Angela Amorosi
Angela has been skating for over 20 years, beginning her journey with Fredericksburg Theatre on Ice under the guidance of Olga Garrity, founder of Virginia Ice Theatre. With over 10 years of Theatre on Ice experience and a strong background in dance, Angela combines technical expertise with a passion for artistic expression on the ice.
Currently coaching at Prince William Ice Center, she emphasizes confidence, creativity, and a positive training environment. As a mother of four, Angela is dedicated to helping skaters of all levels reach their full potential, whether they are stepping onto the ice for the first time or refining advanced skills.
Off the ice, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, baking cakes, and exploring creative pursuits such as knitting, crocheting, painting, and stained glass making.
Team Coach
Chrissy O'Connor
Coach Chrissy has been coaching since 2005 and holds three U.S. Figure Skating gold medals in Dance, Free Dance, and Moves in the Field. She has also passed four International Dances. Chrissy coaches skaters of all ages and levels, with a special passion for Dance and Moves in the Field. She began teaching private lessons in 2006 and has extensive experience in Synchronized Skating, having coached with the Capitol Steps from 2005–2014 (serving as Assistant Director in her later years), coached for two years with DC Edge, and later launched her own Synchronized Skating program at Ion International Training Center. Chrissy joined Virginia Ice Theatre as a coach in the 2021–2022 season.
A graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Chrissy was a member of the Senior Varsity Synchronized Skating Team from 1998–2002. During her four years, she and her team earned a Senior National Title, a Senior National Bronze medal, and two Senior National Silver medals. Internationally, she helped secure a title in Prague, Czech Republic, a bronze medal in Toronto, Canada, and a silver medal in Milan, Italy. Representing Team USA, she competed in Sweden, Finland, France, Italy, Canada, and the Czech Republic.
Chrissy also continued her competitive career after college, earning a National Title with DC Edge’s Masters Team during the 2015–2016 season.
Team Coach
Marieka Cober
An experienced synchronized skater, Marieka has been coaching for more than five years. She is a U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist, sectional and national medalist, and an international competitor. In addition to coaching with Virginia Ice Theatre, she also works with the National Blades Synchronized Skating Teams.
Marieka earned her B.A. from American University and currently works at the University of Maryland.
